This book has a great message! it celebrates having a sister as well as being a big sister. Sisters are special and after reading this book many of my students wanted a sibling.

The illustrations were very appealing, even for a child under 3 years of age. The story told offers a clear and easily understood story of what will be happening as a new sibling is introduced in the family. Examples of specific behaviors that the older sibling can demonstrate are included throughout.

The overall intention of the book is admirable and useful to parents having a second child. The anticipatory guidance provided to the child via the story and to the parent at the end is helpful and, for the most part, well-targeted. The CD included at the back includes a nice song for older sisters.

The illustrations in this book held the attention of my child. Also, the way the book explained child birth was great. It was honest, yet kept simple for a child. The CD included was another excellent addition.

I read this book to my six year old and I felt that it related to him very well. It explained the things that he needed to know about being a big brother in an easy to understand way. It also answered some of the questions about how baby was going to get here that he may have been thinking but not ready to ask yet in an simpified and easy to understand way
